I still remember the circumstances of when and why I wrote this song, like it was yesterday... It was early 2013 and I was driving home from work over the freeway. The sun was already setting and on the horizon I saw the dark wads of smoke rising from the chimneys of Thyssen (a large industrial company from my hometown in the ruhr-area). I turned my view on the road again, when I noticed a dead bird on the side shoulder. Drawn down from the undertow of the passing cars, crashed on some windshield and then left to die... I just couldn't avoid thinking "Fuck this world and fuck this society". We invaded their habitat and then adjusted it to our means. We are a bunch of selfish convenience addicts, not caring about the consequences in the least. I was so seethed with anger that I thought "Yeah, this planet would probably be better off without us - so, let it end with us" and then, back home, wrote this song.
